Fatal traffic incidents reported in Limassol and Paphos
A 21-year-old man, Angelos Kombos, died on the night of April 27 in Limassol after succumbing to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on April 24. The collision occurred on Georgiou I Avenue when the motorcycle, operated by a 23-year-old, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old. Authorities confirmed that neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a protective helmet. The Limassol traffic police are currently investigating the circumstances, including analyzing CCTV footage from the Germasogeia tourist area. Separately, a 37-year-old female pedestrian remains in serious condition in the intensive care unit of Paphos General Hospital. She was struck by a vehicle driven by a 77-year-old man on Sotiraki Markidi Street in Paphos at approximately 1:20 p.m. on April 27. The woman suffered a fractured skull and shoulder. Local traffic police are continuing their investigation into both incidents.
