Fatal motorcycle accident in Akrotiri on the M1 road

On Saturday, April 25, at approximately 13:39, a fatal traffic collision occurred on the M1 road in the Akrotiri area, within the British Bases territory. A car, driven by a foreign national, collided with a motorcycle carrying two people near a strawberry kiosk. According to reports, the collision happened when the car driver attempted a U-turn after leaving the kiosk. The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while his female passenger was transported to Limassol General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both occupants of the motorcycle were wearing full protective gear at the time of the accident. The driver of the car has been arrested and is currently being questioned by the British Bases Police. The authorities have closed the road and are conducting an investigation into the exact circumstances of the incident.
