Cyprus records 175% of average April rainfall in first 20 days
Preliminary data from the Cyprus Department of Meteorology indicates that rainfall levels between April 1 and April 20 reached 175% of the expected monthly average. The recorded rainfall for this period totaled 52.4 millimeters, significantly exceeding the long-term norm of 29.9 millimeters for the entire month of April. The highest precipitation levels were observed in Platania, where 93.5 millimeters of rain fell, representing 180% of the area's normal monthly average. Significant rainfall was also recorded in Saittas, reaching 91.3 millimeters or 191% of the norm. Additionally, the Stavros tis Psokas station measured 83.1 millimeters of rain, which is 145% of its expected level for the month. These figures are based on official readings collected up to 09:00 local time on April 20.
