Department of Road Transport issues safety recall for vehicles and components

The Cyprus Department of Road Transport has published a list of hazardous vehicles and components identified in the EU market during weeks 14 and 15 of 2026. These products were registered in the EU's Safety Gate rapid alert system. The department mandates that all manufacturers, distributors, and importers operating in the Republic of Cyprus must notify the authorities if they have distributed these products. Economic operators are legally required to initiate recall procedures if the hazardous items are available in the local market. Consumers possessing affected cars or motorcycles are instructed to contact the manufacturer or local distributor for further guidance. Owners should verify their vehicle's status by checking the registration certificate against the manufacturer's model and production details. Furthermore, users of identified faulty components are advised to cease use immediately and return the items to the point of sale.
