The 16th Cyprus Wine Competition takes place in Limassol
The 16th Cyprus Wine Competition is being held in Limassol from April 20 to April 24, 2026, featuring 145 wines from 30 local wineries. The event is hosted by the Department of Agriculture under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture, the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV). Judging is conducted by a seven-member international committee chaired by Professor Dominique Tusseau, following OIV standards. The panel includes experts and sommeliers from Georgia, Hungary, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, France, and Cyprus. Participants are competing in categories including dry, semidry, semisweet, and sweet wines. The event began with a press briefing on April 20 at the Viticulture and Oenology Branch offices.
