AKEL general secretary holds election rally in Athens
General Secretary of the AKEL party, Stefanos Stefanou, held a campaign rally in Athens on Sunday ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections. During the event, Stefanou emphasized the need for a stronger AKEL presence in parliament to better represent workers, pensioners, and young people. He explicitly rejected the narrative that all political parties are identical, arguing that AKEL prioritizes social issues while others favor financial institutions and large interests. Stefanou scheduled several high-level meetings in Athens to follow the rally. On Monday, he held meetings with Greek political leaders, including Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis. Further appointments are set for Tuesday with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Deputy Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis. The discussions focus on strengthening parliamentary representation and current political strategies.
