Ministry of Defense announces new recruitment procedures for 2026 conscripts

The Cypriot Ministry of Defense has launched an online platform for 2026 conscript recruitment. Defense Minister Vasilis Palmas announced that all applications and required documentation must be submitted through the portal by May 3, 2026. A significant policy change is the elimination of conscript service positions at the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the National Guard. To encourage compliance, the Ministry is offering 20 additional points for those who submit data via the platform, which will be used for placement in military branches and units. Furthermore, 30 extra points will be awarded to conscripts who attend medical examinations at provincial health committees prior to their enlistment. These measures aim to streamline the selection process and improve administrative efficiency. The new system is designed to provide better support for conscripts and their families while digitizing internal procedures.
