Justice Minister briefs cabinet on Santi case investigation
Minister of Justice and Public Order Costas Fytiris received a briefing from Police Chief Themistos Arnaoutis on Monday regarding the ongoing investigation into the 'Santi' case, which stems from allegations made by journalist Makarios Drousiotis. Fytiris is scheduled to update the Council of Ministers on Tuesday to discuss the next steps, including the potential appointment of an independent criminal investigator. Deputy Government Spokesman Giannis Antoniou stated that the government does not discount the severity of the issue and remains open to transferring the investigation to another authority if necessary. The case involves forensic analysis of digital files, specifically alleged screenshots of conversations between a 45-year-old woman identified as 'Santi' and former Supreme Court Judge Michalakis Christodoulou. 'Santi' has reportedly testified to the police that she fabricated the relationship and created fake messages to appear important. The police investigation is ongoing, with officials confirming that the investigative team has been reinforced and is examining all aspects of the case. No final decision has been reached yet regarding the appointment of an independent investigator.
