Cyprus police provide update on Sandy case investigation
The investigation into the case known as 'Sandy,' which involves allegations concerning the political and judicial system, is currently at an advanced stage but remains ongoing. Police spokesperson Byron Byronos confirmed that authorities are actively collecting testimonies from individuals mentioned in various messages and audio recordings. The investigation relies on three primary pillars: a financial audit of involved individuals, analysis of messages and audio files by Europol, and expert assistance from the FBI. While police are awaiting evidence from commercial banks regarding overseas money transfers, they have not yet set a specific timeline for the conclusion of the case. Europol is tasked with verifying the authenticity of the digital evidence, while FBI experts are expected to assist in analyzing testimonies and behavioral patterns. Although reports suggest potential arrival dates for international teams, officials maintain that no concrete deadline for the final results can be provided. Investigators continue to work systematically to process a large volume of evidence.
