Vehicle fires reported in Limassol and Latsia

Two separate vehicle fire incidents occurred in Cyprus recently. In Limassol, a fire broke out around 2:00 a.m. in a vehicle owned by an 80-year-old woman parked on Grevenon Street in the Tricherousa area. The fire was extinguished by the Fire Service, and the Limassol CID has launched an investigation to determine the cause, with damages yet to be assessed. Separately, in Latsia, Nicosia, a vehicle was set on fire around 6:00 a.m. outside a residence. While initially linked to a 42-year-old woman, authorities confirmed the car belongs to a male associate of hers known to the police. The Nicosia CID is investigating this as a malicious arson, citing potential personal or financial motives. Investigators have gathered evidence and witness statements, noting that the perpetrator was a single individual. The car sustained damage to its front section, but the fire was contained before it could spread further.
