Large-scale drone exchanges between Russia and Ukraine strike energy and port facilities
Overnight, Ukraine and Russia exchanged massive drone strikes targeting energy infrastructure and industrial sites. In the Russian city of Tuapse, a drone attack on a Rosneft oil refinery killed one person and caused significant fires, marking the second strike on this facility in recent days. Meanwhile, in the Russian city of Syzran, a drone strike damaged a residential building, injuring 11 people, including two children. The Ukrainian military also claimed an attack on a drone manufacturing plant in Taganrog. Conversely, Russia launched 143 drones and two missiles against Ukraine; 116 drones and one missile were intercepted. In the Ukrainian city of Sumy, at least 15 people were injured by Russian strikes, with additional casualties reported in Kharkiv, Sloviansk, and Dnipropetrovsk. Ukraine also reported damage to port infrastructure in Odesa, though no injuries were confirmed there. Russia claimed the destruction of 97 Ukrainian drones over its territory during the night.
