Second Aphrodite Half Marathon concludes in Polis Chrysochous
The second Aphrodite Half Marathon took place on April 19, 2026, in the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous, organized by Running in Cyprus and the local municipality. The event attracted over 1,420 participants, more than double the number from the inaugural race, including 250 international runners. The races featured a 21km half marathon, 10km and 5km runs, and a 1,000m children's race. Held under the auspices of President Nikos Christodoulides, the event was attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis. In the men's half marathon, Aris Konnaris (Cyprus) won with 1:19:37, while Albina Khabirova (Russia) won the women's race in 1:31:03. Mikita Katsuaneu (Belarus) and Alina Sinevich (Belarus) took first place in the 10km events, while Giorgos Charakis (Cyprus) and Hanna Maksimava (Belarus) won the 5km races. Several notable figures, including Maria Markou, Kyriaki Drakou, and Ermolia Pelopida, were honored during the event.
