Animal Party Cyprus announces three candidates for 2026 legislative elections
The Animal Party of Cyprus has announced its participation in the May 2026 parliamentary elections through a collaborative agreement with the Movement of Ecologists – Citizens' Cooperation. As part of this electoral alliance, three members of the Animal Party will run on a unified ballot with the Movement of Ecologists. Party President Kyriakos Kyriakou will be a candidate in the Famagusta district. Giannakis (Akis) Ioannidis will represent the party in the Limassol district, while Fanis Stavrinidis will be the candidate in the Paphos district. The party stated that the primary objective of this cooperation is to promote animal welfare and rights within the political system. By joining forces, they aim to secure parliamentary representation to influence decisions regarding animal protection. This partnership is presented as a strategic step to advance ecological and animal rights issues at the national level.
