Cypriot actor misses flight after security incident in Rome

Cypriot actor Marios Stylianou and his wife, Vasiliki Andreou, missed their flight from Rome to Cyprus following an extensive security check at the airport. According to the actor, security staff mistook him for a Russian national and subjected him to a prolonged search, including questioning regarding the amount of cash he was carrying. Despite the actor presenting his passport to confirm his identity, the process resulted in the couple missing their flight. Consequently, they were required to pay for their own hotel accommodation and new air tickets. Stylianou reported that he is unable to seek compensation for these expenses. Furthermore, the delay resulted in the cancellation of his scheduled theater performance at the Piccolo Theater, where he is a proprietor. Ironically, the actor currently plays the role of a Russian tycoon in the play 'Edo Leme SOS' by Giorgos Tsiakkas. The couple is scheduled to return to Cyprus the following morning.
