Flights from Israel to Cyprus to resume following ceasefire

Christos Angelides, Director General of the Cyprus Hoteliers Association (Pasyxe), announced that flights from Israel to Cyprus are expected to resume next week. This development follows the recent ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. According to Angelides, the resumption of air travel is expected to occur in higher volumes than previously recorded, which is significant as Israel remains the second-largest tourism market for Cyprus. Despite this positive outlook, hotel occupancy rates across the country remain uneven. The Famagusta district, and specifically the Protaras area, is currently reporting performance levels significantly lower than other Cypriot districts. Lower occupancy is also anticipated in Protaras for the first half of May. The industry is currently focused on securing the critical five-month period from June through October to stabilize the tourism sector.
