Coventry City promoted to the Premier League

Blackburn Rovers opened the scoring shortly after halftime through a deflected shot from Ryoya Morishita. Bobby Thomas scored the equalizer for Coventry with a late header, confirming the result in front of 7,500 visiting supporters. Under manager Frank Lampard, the club now leads the Championship table with 86 points from 43 matches. This victory puts Coventry 13 points clear of third-placed Millwall, who can no longer surpass them in the standings.
