Developments in the Santi case involving Nikos Kliridis and Costa Clerides
On April 21, 2026, lawyer Nikos Kliridis filed an application with the Supreme Court to cancel a search warrant executed at his home regarding the ongoing Santi case. Kliridis alleges that the initial court committed legal errors and that the police affidavit contained intentional mistakes. He stated that he has had no contact with the individual known as Santi and argued that the content of messages is more important than potentially falsified photos attached to the evidence. If the Supreme Court grants the application, the warrant would be canceled from the start, rendering evidence seized during the search inadmissible. Separately, former Attorney General Costa Clerides appeared before the police on April 19, 2026, to provide information regarding the case following public allegations made by Makarios Drousiotis. Clerides confirmed he submitted limited information that came to his attention after his retirement. Authorities are currently continuing their investigation, including taking testimony from Santi’s relatives and planning to contact journalist Stelios Orfanidis.
