Grandfather arrested after removing toddler from hospital in Pyrgos
On Thursday, April 16, a man was arrested in Pyrgos, Greece, on charges of exposing a minor to danger. The incident began on Wednesday afternoon in Lechaina, when a two-year-old child accidentally ingested bleach while under his grandfather's supervision. The toddler was initially taken to a local clinic and subsequently transferred by an ambulance to the General Hospital of Pyrgos for medical observation. Despite explicit medical instructions to keep the child in the pediatric ward to prevent complications like chemical pneumonia, the grandfather removed the boy from the hospital at midnight. Police stated the suspect left the premises against medical advice, endangering the child's health. The man has been taken into custody and is expected to appear before the public prosecutor of Ilias.
