Cyprus hosts inaugural Market Access Day in Limassol

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, the first Cyprus Market Access Day (MAD) took place in Limassol. The event was organized by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry and the European Commission (DG Trade & Economic Security), in collaboration with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) and the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Evel). The primary objective was to assist Cypriot businesses in navigating international markets by utilizing European trade tools and free trade agreements. Key speakers included Keve President Stavros Stavrou, who emphasized that international trade is essential for a small, open economy, and Limassol Chamber President Andreas Tsouloftas, who highlighted the strategic role of Limassol in economic expansion. The session was open to the public free of charge, provided that participants had registered in advance. Attendees received practical guidance on removing trade barriers and accessing support for export-oriented growth. The initiative served as a platform for sharing best practices among existing exporters and companies planning to enter new markets.
