Cyprus hosts inaugural Market Access Day 2026 in Limassol

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, Cyprus hosted its first Market Access Day in Limassol. The event was organized by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, the European Commission's DG Trade and Economic Security, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KEVE), and the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The seminar aimed to strengthen the international competitiveness of Cypriot enterprises and provide practical guidance on accessing global markets. Stavros Stavrou, President of KEVE, emphasized that international trade is essential for the resilience and growth of Cyprus's small, open economy. He noted that the effectiveness of EU trade agreements depends on their practical application by small and medium-sized enterprises. Andreas Tsouloftas, President of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the strategic role of Limassol in the country's export-oriented development. Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Michalis Damianis also addressed the event, which was open to the public and focused on navigating trade barriers and utilizing European trade tools.
