AEK Athens eliminated from Conference League despite home win

AEK Athens was eliminated from the UEFA Conference League quarterfinals after a 3-1 victory against Rayo Vallecano at OPAP Arena. Despite the win, the Spanish side advanced to the semifinals due to their 3-0 lead from the first leg in Madrid. Zini scored twice for AEK in the 13th and 51st minutes, while Marin added a penalty in the 35th minute. Rayo Vallecano's captain, Isi Palazon, scored the decisive goal in the 60th minute. With this result, Greece dropped to 12th place in the UEFA country ranking, losing the chance to enter the top ten.
