Police arrest two suspects in separate drug trafficking cases
Cypriot authorities have conducted two separate drug-related operations on April 17, 2026. In Limassol, police and customs officials raided a warehouse, discovering a shipping container filled with 150 packages containing 590 units of cannabinoid substances, including CBN and CBD, along with 100 cannabis-infused chocolates. A 58-year-old man was arrested in connection with this case and is expected to appear before the Limassol District Court for a detention order. Meanwhile, in Nicosia, a 23-year-old man was arrested after the Drug Law Enforcement Unit intercepted a postal parcel from abroad containing 400 grams of cannabis at a sorting center on April 15. The suspect in the Nicosia case is also scheduled to appear before the Nicosia District Court. Investigations by the respective provincial units of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit are ongoing. Both individuals face charges related to the illegal import, possession, and intent to supply controlled substances.
