Two suspects arrested at Paphos airport over burglary cases

Cypriot police arrested a 51-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman at Paphos airport as they were attempting to leave the country. The arrests followed a complaint by a 37-year-old resident of Protaras regarding a burglary at his home, where cash and two pairs of AirPods worth 900 euros were stolen. Authorities located the suspects using a signal transmitted by the stolen devices in the Ayia Napa area. The individuals are accused of involvement in four burglaries in Protaras committed between April 14 and April 16, 2026. Further investigation revealed that the 51-year-old man is also linked to ten additional night burglaries and thefts committed in Paralimni during 2023 and 2025. Both suspects are scheduled to appear before the Famagusta District Court for a detention hearing, while the Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department continues the probe.
