Limassol man arrested twice in two days for assaulting police officers
A 23-year-old Limassol resident was arrested twice within 24 hours following separate incidents of assaulting police officers. On the evening of April 14, 2026, officers responded to a shop alarm where they encountered the intoxicated suspect carrying an alcohol bottle. During identification, he allegedly attacked a female officer and threatened others with a broken bottle. After being released on bail by the Limassol District Court the following morning, he was arrested again at approximately 5 p.m. for causing a disturbance at another premises. In the second incident, he allegedly pushed furniture, shouted, and physically struck three additional officers. The suspect was taken to Limassol General Hospital after the first arrest but refused examination, while the injured officers were treated and discharged. The court has scheduled a hearing for the first case on May 15, 2026. While one media source identified the suspect as a Ukrainian national, official police reports have not confirmed this detail.
