Cyprus stock exchange records gains in first session after Easter break

The Cyprus Stock Exchange concluded its first session following the Easter holiday on Wednesday with notable gains. The General Index finished the day at 284.08 points, representing an increase of 3.28 percent. The FTSE/CySE 20 index also climbed to 165.65 points, marking a rise of 1.55 percent. Total daily transaction volume reached 270,526.97 euros, conducted through 110 transactions. Within the sub-indices, the Main Market surged by 4.27 percent and Investment Companies rose by 1.44 percent, while the Alternative Market and Hotels declined by 0.54 percent and 1.08 percent respectively. Market activity was dominated by Bank of Cyprus shares, which closed at 9.305 euros with a 5.14 percent gain, followed by Eurobank and Atlantic Insurance. Out of the shares traded, nine saw price increases, two fell, and two remained unchanged. Earlier mid-session data provided by the Cyprus News Agency recorded lower volume and index levels, reflecting the final closing figures as the definitive market outcome.
