Two individuals arrested in Paphos for arson and criminal conspiracy

A 41-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were remanded in custody for eight days by the Paphos District Court. The suspects face twelve charges, including conspiracy to commit a felony, two car arsons, and the arson and attempted arson of a cafeteria on Agapinoros Street. The incidents occurred on March 25, April 4, and April 6. The 19-year-old reportedly admitted to receiving 1,000 euros for one of the acts but did not identify the payer. The suspects were apprehended following a police chase that began at 4:25 a.m. on Wednesday, during which they allegedly collided with police vehicles while driving a car with fake license plates. Some reports mention that one suspect assaulted a police officer during the pursuit. Authorities are currently searching for a relative possibly involved in the case and investigating potential links to other recent crimes across different districts.
