Two film events scheduled in Cyprus for spring 2026

Cyprus will host two distinct film events in the spring of 2026. The 24th Cyprus Film Days International Festival is scheduled from April 17 to April 25, 2026, held at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol and the Zena Palace Cinema in Nicosia. This festival includes the Glocal Images international competition, a Cypriot films section, and the Viewfinder contemporary cinema showcase, with an opening ceremony directed by Evita Ioannou. Following the ceremony, the Cypriot film 'Hold Onto Me' by Myrsini Aristidou will premiere. Separately, the Mountains on Stage festival, which focuses on mountaineering and outdoor sports, will take place on May 7, 2026, at the Pantheon Cinema in Nicosia. This event will feature four films: 'Why I Fly', 'Queen Swing', 'Patagonian Chimeras', and 'The Cherry on the Cake'. These films will be screened in their original languages with English subtitles to accommodate a diverse audience.
