Stefanos Tsitsipas eliminated in first round of BMW Open
Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas was eliminated in the first round of the BMW Open in Munich after a 2-1 set defeat by Hungarian Fabian Marozsan. The match, which took place on April 15, was interrupted on the previous night due to lack of light with the score tied at 1-1 in sets and 2-2 in games. Upon resumption, Marozsan secured a break in the final game to win the match with set scores of 3-6, 7-6, 6-4. This loss marks Tsitsipas's third defeat in his first four matches on clay courts this season. Following this early exit, the 27-year-old athlete is expected to drop 11 places in the ATP ranking, falling to number 78 globally. This follows a similar early exit at the Monte Carlo Masters, contributing to a total decline of 30 positions in the world rankings within a week and a half.
