Health condition of Giorgos Mylonakis after brain aneurysm rupture

Giorgos Mylonakis, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, has been hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Evangelismos hospital since April 15, 2026. The official suffered a brain aneurysm rupture after fainting during a meeting at the Maximos Mansion. He underwent a successful embolization procedure to address the bleeding. According to the latest medical bulletins, Mylonakis remains intubated in a stable but critical condition. Doctors, including interventional neuroradiologist Eftichis Archontakis, have stated that the next 10 to 14 days are critical for monitoring potential complications such as secondary ischemic events or cerebral edema. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has visited the hospital to be briefed on his close associate's progress. Prior to this event, Mylonakis had been mentioned in public allegations regarding a corruption network by journalist Makarios Drousiotis, which he officially denied while announcing legal action.
