Overnight Russian drone and missile strikes cause casualties across Ukraine
Overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, Russia launched 324 drones and three ballistic missiles against Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that air defenses neutralized 309 drones, while the remaining missiles and drones hit nine regions. In the city of Cherkasy, an eight-year-old boy was killed and 14 people were injured following drone strikes that damaged four apartment buildings. A separate attack in Dnipro resulted in three injuries and damage to residential and administrative structures, following a previous missile strike that killed five and injured nearly 30. In Zaporizhzhia, a 74-year-old woman died after being struck by drone debris. Meanwhile, port infrastructure in the Odesa region, specifically in Izmail, was targeted, damaging a Panama-flagged merchant ship named Lady Maris, along with warehouse and administrative buildings. Regional authorities across the country confirmed ongoing recovery efforts as civilians face continued risks from aerial bombardment.
