APOEL football club addresses financial support and potential investor talks

APOEL FC has officially surpassed 400,000 euros in contributions through its crowdfunding platform, reaching 3,495 individual donations as of April 16, 2026. Among the contributors is the DISY party of Nicosia, which donated 800 euros. Club president Charis Fotiou recently held meetings with the club association to discuss long-term financial management and the potential for new investment. Club spokesperson Nektarios Petevinos clarified that while interest has been expressed by some, the issue of finding an external investor remains at an early stage. The current management agreement for the football department runs until the summer of 2027, with both parties planning to formalize their future intentions by the summer of 2026. Internal discussions are ongoing to align the club association and the company to address significant debts. The club emphasized that securing an investor is vital for long-term financial stability and restoring its competitive edge.
