Royal Caribbean registers Navigator of the Seas under Cyprus flag
The Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Shipping announced the registration of the 140,000-GT cruise ship Navigator of the Seas under the Cypriot flag. This vessel is the second ship from the Royal Caribbean Group to join the Cyprus registry, following the registration of Spectrum of the Seas in January 2023. The development follows the company’s 2023 decision to establish a permanent operational headquarters in Limassol for its Eastern Mediterranean activities. Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanoli acknowledged the cooperation of Royal Caribbean leadership, including CEO Jason Liberty, President Michael Bayley, Senior Vice President Sean Treacy, and regional director Christos Karavos. The ministry stated that this move confirms the company's commitment to the Cyprus flag. Officials view the registration as an indicator of the competitiveness of the Cypriot maritime sector. The Ministry of Shipping emphasizes that the ongoing partnership serves to strengthen the country's position as a regional shipping center.
