Investigation into the death of 19-year-old Myrto in Kefalonia
Three suspects have been remanded in custody following the death of 19-year-old Myrto in Argostoli, Kefalonia, after a 13-hour judicial process on Saturday, April 18. Security camera footage captured two of the suspects carrying the unconscious woman out of a room. A 66-year-old man from Preveza is currently a key figure in the investigation, as he communicated with the victim and sent her money shortly before her death. While the suspects claim they attempted to assist the girl, the victim's family and lawyer suggest she may have been a victim of a human trafficking or sexual exploitation ring. The father claims she was targeted for forced relocation to Athens, a theory under further investigation. Authorities are currently awaiting forensic and toxicological reports to determine the exact cause of death. The legal proceedings remain ongoing, with investigators looking for potential additional accomplices involved in the case.
