Andy Robertson to depart Liverpool and move to Tottenham
Andy Robertson has announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the current season after nine years with the club. While Sky Sports News reports that the 32-year-old Scottish defender has reached a verbal agreement with Tottenham for a contract running until June 2029, the player has clarified that he did not receive a contract extension offer from Liverpool. Robertson stated that his decision to leave is primarily driven by his desire for regular first-team playing time, which is not guaranteed at Liverpool. He noted that he and Mohamed Salah reached their decisions to depart simultaneously. Before settling on the move to London, the player reportedly considered offers from Celtic, Aston Villa, Wolves, and Crystal Palace. Robertson intends to finalize his future plans soon while remaining focused on his international duties for Scotland ahead of the upcoming World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
