Decomposed body discovered on Akamas peninsula coast
On Monday morning at approximately 5:45 a.m., a 48-year-old fisherman discovered a human body in an advanced state of decomposition along the shoreline of the Tzionia area in the Akamas peninsula. Police from the Paphos Directorate and a Marine Police vessel responded to the scene, cordoned off the area, and initiated an investigation. The remains belong to an adult male of unknown identity. The Polis Chrysochous Police Station and the Paphos CID are managing the case. Authorities are currently cross-referencing the remains with missing persons lists to aid in identification. While initial reports suggested the body might be linked to a specific missing person, some evidence regarding clothing has raised doubts. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place to determine the cause and time of death. Police have not ruled out any possibilities regarding the circumstances surrounding the death, though criminal activity is not currently confirmed.
