Police investigate case involving allegations by Makarios Drousiotis

Cyprus Police spokesperson Byron Byronos confirmed that authorities are actively investigating a high-profile case linked to public allegations made by journalist Makarios Drousiotis. The investigation centers on a woman referred to as Sandy, who has already provided a formal statement to the police. Authorities stated that they are aware of her current location and are taking appropriate protective measures. On Saturday morning, police executed a court-issued search warrant at the residence and legal office of Nikos Clerides, who previously acted as a lawyer for the woman. During the operation, officers seized mobile phones, USB drives, and computers. While Clerides and his legal team described the police conduct as inappropriate, the spokesperson maintained that the search was conducted with professionalism and strictly according to legal procedures. The police are also collaborating with Europol, having already submitted some evidentiary material for expert analysis, though a timeline for results remains undetermined.
