Update on the European rankings and performances of Cypriot football clubs
The 2025-26 season has been the most successful in Cypriot football history, with the nation reaching 15th place in the UEFA rankings by accumulating 12,156 points. Pafos FC has emerged as the top-ranked Cypriot team at 83rd place, having secured 24,125 points over the last two seasons, including a historic participation in the Champions League League Phase. Conversely, APOEL has experienced a significant decline, falling to 125th place in the UEFA rankings, down from 91st five years ago and 62nd a decade ago, due to recent absences from European competition. Omonia and AEK Larnaca have demonstrated steady progress, currently ranked 95th and 98th respectively. Omonia concluded the season with 21,250 points, while AEK holds 20,250 points. Both clubs have contributed significantly to the national ranking through consistent participation in the Conference League. The collective efforts of Pafos FC, Omonia, AEK, and Aris were identified as the primary drivers of this record-breaking year for Cyprus.
