Israeli airstrikes in Gaza result in seven deaths

On Saturday, two Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip resulted in at least seven fatalities and several injuries, according to Gaza health ministry officials. The first strike targeted a police checkpoint in the Bureij refugee camp, killing at least six people, while a second strike in Beit Lahiya claimed at least one life. The status of the individuals killed at the police checkpoint remains unconfirmed. The Israeli military stated the Bureij strike occurred after Hamas members approached the demarcation line between the Israeli-occupied territory and Gaza, but did not comment on the incident in Beit Lahiya. Since October, when a U.S.-brokered ceasefire was established, reports from Gaza health officials indicate that Israeli strikes have killed at least 700 people. Conversely, Israeli military data reports that militant attacks have caused the deaths of four soldiers during the same period. Additionally, local medical sources report that at least 25 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes throughout the current week.
