Greek football player Stefanos Borbokis dies at age 59
Stefanos Borbokis, a prominent Greek footballer known for his career in the 1990s, has passed away at the age of 59 following recent health complications. During his professional career, he played as a forward and accumulated over 300 appearances with more than 50 goals. He is most recognized for his eight-year tenure with PAOK, where he recorded 214 appearances and scored 32 goals. Additionally, he played for other major Greek clubs, including Aris and Iraklis. Borbokis also represented the Greek national team on 29 occasions. He was part of a well-known footballing family, as his brother, Vasilis Borbokis, was also a professional player who notably played for Anorthosis during the 2004-2005 season.
