Recent polls reveal tight race ahead of Cyprus parliamentary elections

Two recent polls conducted in April 2026 provide insights into the political landscape ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections on May 24, 2026. The EXPLORER poll for Phileleftheros (conducted March 30–April 6) places DISY first at 17.6% and AKEL second at 17.1%, showing a very tight lead. ELAM holds third place at 10.6% in the Phileleftheros survey, though it is closely followed by the ALMA movement at 10.2%. A separate poll by Noverna Analytics for the newspaper Politis, released on April 11, shows slightly lower percentages for the leading parties, with DISY at 16.5% and AKEL at 15.8%. In the Politis survey, the competition for third place involves ELAM at 9.9% and the party Direct Democracy at 9%. Both polls highlight the instability of party support and the significant number of parties hovering near the 3.6% electoral threshold, including EDEK and VOLT. Differences in findings regarding the third-place contender reflect the high volatility of the current pre-election climate.
