Nico Schlotterbeck extends contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2031
On Good Friday, Borussia Dortmund officially announced the contract extension of defender Nico Schlotterbeck. The German international has signed a new deal that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2031. Schlotterbeck originally joined the team in 2022 from SC Freiburg. Since his arrival, he has made 155 appearances, contributing 10 goals and 18 assists. During his time at the club, he has also earned 25 caps for the German national team. While recent media reports linked the defender to several top European clubs, including Real Madrid, he chose to commit to the long-term project in Dortmund. The new agreement includes increased salary terms and performance-based bonuses. This move secures one of the team's key defensive players for the next several years.
