Iranian and Turkish presidents discuss ceasefire and regional security

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation to discuss efforts to end the conflict in the region. During the call, Pezeshkian expressed appreciation for Turkey's condemnation of military actions against Iran and the solidarity shown by the Turkish people. The Iranian president emphasized that the temporary ceasefire agreement reached between Iran, the United States, and Israel should be expanded to cover all regional fronts, specifically including Lebanon. Pezeshkian accused Israel of threatening regional stability and called on Islamic countries and the international community to exert pressure on the U.S. and Israel to cease hostilities. The Iranian presidency stated that Iran agreed to the temporary ceasefire to help maintain regional stability. Turkish media confirmed the diplomatic contact, noting that the leaders exchanged views on paths to end the ongoing military aggression.
