Good Friday epitaph processions held in Nicosia and Paphos
On Good Friday, religious processions and epitaph meetings are taking place in both Nicosia and Paphos. In Nicosia, the municipalities and three churches—Panagia Faneromeni, Archangel Michael Trypiotis, and Agios Savvas—will hold a joint meeting at the Eleftherias Square bridge at 9:30 p.m. Bishop Nicodemos of Nitria will preside over this event, which involves local scout groups and the Cyprus Police Philharmonic. Meanwhile, in Paphos, processions from the Cathedrals of Agios Theodoros and Agios Kendeas will converge at 28th October Square in front of the City Hall. The Paphos events are organized in cooperation with the local municipality, the 8th Infantry Regiment of the National Guard, and local police. The ceremony in Paphos will feature a joint performance by the municipal and music school philharmonic orchestras, starting at 9:30 p.m. at the square. Additionally, the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous is conducting its own traditional meeting of epitaphs for the churches of Apostolos Andreas and Agios Georgios.
