Irish actor Michael Patrick dies at 35
Irish actor Michael Patrick passed away on April 7 at a hospital in Northern Ireland at the age of 35. His death was announced by his wife, Naomi Sheehan, who stated he was surrounded by family and friends. Patrick had been battling motor neurone disease since his diagnosis in February 2023. A graduate of Cambridge University, he was a notable stage actor, performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company in productions such as 'Measure for Measure' and 'The Taming of the Shrew'. Despite his health challenges, he played the lead role in 'Richard III' at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast in 2024. On television, he appeared in the sixth season of 'Game of Thrones' as well as BBC series including 'This Town' and 'Blue Lights'. Motor neurone disease is a progressive neurological condition affecting muscle function, for which there is currently no cure. The actor remained active in his career until shortly before his passing.
