Two individuals arrested in Agia Napa for alleged theft and assault

Police in the Famagusta district arrested a 45-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman following reports of a potential shop theft in Agia Napa. Upon inspection, officers discovered 1,264 euros and 500 dollars on the man, while the woman was found in possession of six bracelets. The suspects failed to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the origin of these items, leading to their arrest for illegal possession of property. During the proceedings, the 45-year-old suspect became agitated, shouted at officers, and physically pushed them. Consequently, he faces additional charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting lawful arrest, and causing a public disturbance. The police station in Agia Napa is continuing the investigation to determine if the seized assets were stolen from the store. Both suspects remain under investigation while further evidence is gathered.
