Iran rejects limits on uranium enrichment amid upcoming talks

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, stated that Iran will not accept restrictions on its uranium enrichment program. This announcement comes ahead of scheduled talks mediated by Pakistan. Washington alleges that Tehran is nearing the development of a nuclear weapon, a claim that remains unconfirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Iran maintains its right to nuclear energy and denies any intention to build an atomic bomb. A ten-point peace plan proposed by Tehran includes the condition that its uranium enrichment activities be accepted. U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated his opposition to any Iranian enrichment. Furthermore, discussions are addressing the status of over 400 kilograms of highly enriched uranium that were targeted by U.S. airstrikes in June 2025. Proposals exist for the joint removal of nuclear materials currently buried at the site.
