Infant hospitalized in Greece with severe abuse injuries
A 10-month-old girl was hospitalized at the Karamandaneio Hospital in Patras after sustaining multiple injuries, including burns, fractures, and human bite marks. A forensic medical report confirmed the bite marks were inflicted by a human within the last month. The infant remains in critical condition. Authorities arrested the child's mother and her partner after they were charged with felony assault against a vulnerable person. The mother's partner reportedly confessed to biting the child while under the influence of alcohol. The mother is accused of failing to take action to prevent the abuse. Both suspects were remanded in custody following their testimonies before the Ilia magistrate. The prosecutor’s office and the judiciary reached a unanimous decision regarding their pre-trial detention.
