APOEL and Omonia announce contract extensions for young players

On April 9, 2026, two major Cypriot football clubs announced long-term contract extensions for young talents. APOEL reached an agreement with 21-year-old forward Stavros Georgiou to extend his contract until May 2029. Georgiou, a product of the APOEL academy, is currently on loan at Omonia Aradippou, where he has recorded six goals and four assists in 22 matches this season. Simultaneously, Omonia Nicosia announced that 18-year-old attacking midfielder Konstantinos Panagi has signed a contract extension lasting until 2028. Panagi has been training with the Omonia first team since last summer and has participated in 22 matches for the U19 squad with five goals. The young player has also represented the Cyprus U19 national team and the national armed forces team.
