APOEL FC extends contracts with young Cypriot players
APOEL FC has officially announced the contract extensions for two of its young players, Konstantinos Giannakou and Panagiotis Kattirtzis, securing their services until May 2029. Both players are products of the club's youth academy. Konstantinos Giannakou, born on April 25, 2005, is 21 years old and has progressed through all the club's youth levels to the men's team. Panagiotis Kattirtzis, born on April 12, 2006, is 20 years old and was previously recognized by the Cyprus Football Association (KOP) as the best young player of the championship in May 2025. These renewals are part of a broader club strategy to build a team centered around a Cypriot core, which also includes recent contract extensions for Stavros Georgiou, Stelios Vrontis, and Konstantinos Poursaitidis. The club is also evaluating a potential extension for 23-year-old forward Nikolas Koutsakos, whose current contract runs until 2027.
