Ethics and Sports Protection Committee launches anonymous reporting platform

The Ethics and Sports Protection Committee (EDPA) officially launched a new digital platform for submitting anonymous reports on April 9th, during a press conference held at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia. The committee chairman, Stefanos Skordis, introduced the tool as a mechanism to gather evidence regarding sports-related misconduct. Board member Nikolas Konstantinou explained that the platform was developed to address the reluctance of individuals to report corruption due to fear of retaliation or exposure. The system is designed to securely accept reports concerning corruption and violations of the Law on Combating the Manipulation of Sports Events. Officials stated that while this platform does not solve all issues, it creates a new channel for reporting illegal activities with guaranteed anonymity. The initiative aims to provide a safe environment for whistleblowers within the sporting sector. The committee invites the public to submit information either through this new anonymous system or via official named complaints.
